Get to know me
Hi my name is Elvio Cauchi. I’m a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, composer, and audio engineer, and I’ve built my career the hard way: session after session, problem after problem, figuring out what actually works. My work spans recording and mixing bands and orchestras, to creating sound worlds for film and games—Foley, SFX, and composition. The kind of work that either supports the story… or breaks the illusion if it’s not done right. Since 2018, I’ve also been lecturing Audio Engineering: An Introduction (LAS3020) at the University of Malta, sharing real studio experience with students who want to get into the field.
My base is Audio Alchemy Studios in Malta—a working studio where the focus is simple: take ideas, solve problems, and make them sound right. Over 35 years in, and I’m still deep in it—recording, mixing, designing sound, and composing. Still learning. Still experimenting. This space is where I share real-world insights, session takeaways, and the small details that actually matter when you’re in the middle of a mix.
If you live in this world too—you’re in the right place.
